The VOTE window poster I painted for Planned Parenthood last month!

I voted by mail in California yesterday. If you live in the US and haven’t registered to vote yet, please find out at https://iwillvote.com/–some state deadlines have passed and some have not. Also, check out this article for a state-by-state list of postmarked-by and received-by deadlines.

If you’re voting by mail, then when you receive your ballot, please vote as EARLY as you can in a secure dropoff location. Every single vote counts in this election, including those in solidly blue or red states: it will make it harder for the administration to deny the result if the margin of loss is overwhelming.

Vote for local and state measures and representatives–these really matter! Online voter guides can help you understand candidate platforms and the implications of proposed legislation. Look up voter guides for your county or state (but beware of mis/disinformation).

This blog stands unequivocally for Black lives, for free, safe and universal healthcare (including reproductive healthcare), for addressing social injustice at every level of society, for swift action against climate change, for immigration rights, for LGBT+ rights, for trusting science, for democracy, and for learning from history. All that can’t be done just by voting, but it’s a necessary start.
